Do you supply the doorbell or camera?
Most customers buy their own device, which we then install. If you have not chosen one yet, we can talk through what to look for, such as wired or battery power, field of view and whether it works with your existing chime. Send us the model before the visit so we can check compatibility.
Do I need an electrician for a Ring doorbell?
A battery doorbell can be fitted without one. A hardwired doorbell needs a suitable transformer and correct connections, and cameras often need a new spur or outdoor socket. That is electrical work and should be done safely, which is where we come in.
What affects the cost?
The number of devices, whether existing doorbell wiring and transformers can be reused, the distance to a power source, the wall construction and the height of camera positions. A single doorbell swap is much quicker than several cameras around a detached house.
Will my Wi-Fi reach the cameras?
It depends on your router position and the walls between it and the device. Thick stone walls in older South Wales properties can weaken the signal. We check signal strength at each position before fitting and suggest alternatives if a spot is likely to be unreliable.
Are there rules about where cameras can point?
If a camera records beyond your property boundary, such as a public street or a neighbour's garden, data protection rules can apply to you. The simplest approach is to aim cameras at your own property and use privacy zones in the app. We help you position cameras with this in mind.
