Electrician in Penarth: Cardiff Electrician is Jorge Simoes, a qualified and insured electrician working from Cardiff since 2014. In Penarth we rewire period homes, upgrade consumer units and fit lighting, garden electrics and EV chargers, all to BS 7671.
Penarth sits just across the bay from Cardiff, so it is one of the places we work most often. It is a town with real character, and that character comes with some particular electrical needs.
Much of central Penarth is made up of large Victorian and Edwardian villas and terraces with high ceilings, original plasterwork and sash windows. Many of these homes have been partly rewired over the decades, leaving a mix of old and new cabling that is worth checking properly. A full rewire or consumer unit replacement in a period property needs care, so we plan cable routes to keep disruption to original features to a minimum. Owners also often want better lighting for big rooms, more sockets in the kitchen and outdoor lighting for long gardens.
Down at Penarth Marina and in the newer homes towards Cogan, the work is more about upgrades: EV chargers on drives, extra sockets and USB points, media wall wiring and smart doorbells. Wherever you are in Penarth, quotes are free and the work is carried out to BS 7671.

Electrician in Penarth: FAQs
Can you rewire a Victorian house in Penarth without ruining the original features?
Yes. Before we start a rewire in a period home we plan the cable routes room by room, using floor voids and existing runs where we can, so cornices, ceiling roses and plasterwork are disturbed as little as possible. We talk you through the plan before any work begins.
Do you fit EV chargers at homes near Penarth Marina?
Yes. Many homes around the marina and the newer streets towards Cogan have off-road parking, which suits a home EV charger. We check your supply and consumer unit first, then recommend the right position and set-up. Call 029 2000 1399 for a free quote.
Can you light up a long Penarth garden?
Yes. Many Penarth homes have long gardens, and we install outdoor lighting, outdoor sockets and power to sheds, summerhouses and garden rooms. Everything outside is installed with suitable weatherproof fittings and protection, to BS 7671, so it is safe to use all year round.

I had a number of small electrical jobs for Jorge to do. He completed everything quickly, professionally and to a high standard. Jorge was very polite and helpful and clearly takes pride in his work. I would 100% call him if I need more electrical work doing.
I have been a private landlord 25 years and can count the reviews I've left on one hand. I've known Jorge several years. He is a trusted professional, timely and charges competitive rates.
We initially asked Jorge to help us after being let down by another electrician, and he was only too happy to help make some bad work safe... Jorge always explains what is going on and helps us understand more about how electrics work. He is thorough, leaves no mess behind and very reliable.
