Full Rewires: A full rewire replaces a property's cables, sockets, switches and usually the consumer unit, bringing the installation up to the current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations. We replace the power, lighting and dedicated appliance circuits with modern cable, routed and protected in line with BS 7671, so the system is safe today and easy to extend later.
A modern consumer unit
Most rewires include a new consumer unit with RCD protection, so a fault on any circuit disconnects quickly, cutting the risk of electric shock or fire.
Sockets where you need them
We fit new switches and sockets and add extra outlets in kitchens, bedrooms and home offices, planned around how you actually use each room so the extension leads can go.
Smoke alarms and full testing
We can fit mains-wired interlinked smoke alarms while the walls are open, then test every circuit before handing over an Electrical Installation Certificate for your records.

How much does a full rewire cost?
It depends on the size of the property, the number of circuits and sockets you want, whether it is furnished or empty and how easy access is under floors and in the loft. Quotes are free and itemised, and our reviews say our pricing is very reasonable.
How long does a rewire take?
It depends on the size and layout of the property. A small flat is quicker than a three-storey terrace, and an empty house is quicker than one you are living in. We give you a realistic timescale with the quote and keep you updated if anything changes.
Can I stay in the house during a rewire?
Many people do, but expect dust, lifted floorboards and periods without power. We work room by room where we can, aim to restore key circuits at the end of each day. If you can empty rooms or stay elsewhere for part of the job, it moves faster.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. Once every circuit is tested you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate under BS 7671. A rewire is also notifiable under Building Regulations, and we explain at quote stage how that is handled. Keep the certificate safe, as buyers and insurers often ask for it.
